|Evans Estate Auction|
Bidding ends July 18, 2016 - at 7:00 p.m. central with soft close
The passing of Ruth and Leon Evans brings about the auction of the Real Estate and Personal Property of the Evans Trust.
For 30 years, Ruth worked at Schnuck’s, where she eventually retired. She won “Checker of the Year” and you would often find that customers would switch to her line, even if it were longer, just so they could mingle with her. Leon worked for McDonnell Douglas for over 35 years, where he eventually retired.
As you will see from some of the items listed in the sale, Ruth and Leon enjoyed many different hobbies and activities. Lee built pretty much everything by hand. He loved building furniture and constructing things around the house and was always happy to build a toy box, a dollhouse, bookcase or some other priceless possession for his family members. Ruth loved to read and could finish a book in about a day. You could also find her working on the New York Times crossword puzzle everyday. During family functions, you could always expect to play some sort of game such as Scrabble or Slap Jack. After retirement, Ruth and Lee spent a lot of time travelling and hiking.
While Lee and Ruth are and will continue to be dearly missed by friends and family, they left behind a legacy of love, laughter and memories that will be cherished for lifetimes to come.
